We are delighted to welcome you to NeuroSU 2025, the inaugural colloquium of the Center for Neuroscience at Sorbonne University (NeuroSU), established in January 2025 with the support of Inserm, CNRS and Sorbonne Université.

NeuroSU has been created to advance our understanding of the brain — its development, function, and remarkable capacity for adaptation. Our research explores how brain architecture emerges, how circuits form and function, how neuronal identity is established, and how these elements come together to shape cognition and behavior in response to internal and external challenges.

Our approach is both multi-scale and multi-species. We investigate brain mechanisms from stem cells to genes, proteins, cellular function, signaling pathways, synaptic plasticity, and behavior, using cutting-edge tools in imaging, electrophysiology, and modeling. Our model systems range from insects and fish to rodents and humans.

At NeuroSU, teams conduct both fundamental and biomedical research, united by a common goal: to address the major societal and global health challenges related to brain function and mental health in a rapidly changing world.

We hope this event fosters stimulating discussions, new collaborations, and a shared vision for the future of neuroscience.

Welcome to NeuroSU 2025!

Laure Rondi-Reig, Director of the Center of Neuroscience at Sorbonne Université (NeuroSU)
